Ozobot

Resource description
Ozobot is a versatile and engaging educational robot designed to teach students basic programming concepts and computational thinking through fun and interactive activities. This tiny robot follows lines on paper or a digital screen and can be programmed using colored markers (Color Codes) or block-based programming via Ozobot's OzoBlockly platform. The robot's ability to interpret color sequences and execute corresponding commands makes it an excellent tool for introducing coding to young learners in a visually intuitive manner. Ozobot can be used through several subjects, integrating into lessons involving STEM. Its small size and user-friendly interface make it accessible to students of all ages, from elementary to middle school.
Sample of use in education with students with IDD
A Learning Objective with which it could fit:

Objective: To create and interpret simple algorithms to solve problems.
Activity: Using Ozobot, students will draw lines and color codes on paper to program the robot to navigate on a maze, emphasizing logical sequencing and debugging skills.

Objective: To understand the basics of block-based programming and how it translates to robot behavior.
Activity: Through OzoBlockly, students can create block-based code to make Ozobot perform specific tasks, such as completing an obstacle course, by learning the principles of coding logic and problem-solving.
