These are laminated boards or digital displays that break tasks into pictorial steps, using symbols, photos, or colors. They help reduce cognitive overload and make tasks more predictable.
Sample of use in education with students with IDD
When assembling a robotic arm, students follow a visual guide showing each step with an image. They check off completed steps using Velcro pieces or markers. This method is ideal for learners who benefit from routine and clear visual cues.
