Use of time markers

Typology
Methodological
Resource description
The use of time markers is a methodological resource that aims to help learners, especially those with special educational needs (SEN), to better manage and understand the passage of time, transitions between activities and the duration of tasks. This resource is essential for those who need a more predictable and clear structure, as the time markers provide visual, auditory or tactile cues that indicate when an activity begins, ends or how much time is left until completion.
Sample of use in education with students with IDD
The use of time markers that favour the structuring of time, for example, adapted clocks, such as the Time Timer (Hoptoys) that allow a visual reference of the time allocated to an activity.
